A short guide to nasal breathing

Breathing decides.

01The problem

The mouth takes over.

You take around 20,000 breaths a day. Almost all of them on autopilot.

Under pressure the breaths turn short and heavy. The mouth takes over and the rhythm disappears, exactly when it matters most.

On the court. In the gym. In the middle of the night.

02The nose

Built for the job.

Air passing through the nose is warmed, humidified and filtered on the way in. The mouth lets it in raw.

But the difference shows most in how it feels. Nasal breathing is calmer and more rhythmic. Mouth breathing is laboured and stressed, even when the performance is exactly the same.

03The pause

Twenty seconds.

Think of a tennis player between two points. The one gasping with an open mouth is still in the last point when the next serve comes.

The one who closes the mouth and breathes through the nose has time to bring the pulse down and get the focus back.

Those same twenty seconds exist between sets in the gym, and in the minutes before you fall asleep.

04The honest part

Sometimes you need your mouth.

At really high intensity, a sprint or the last kilometre, the nose is not enough. Then mouth breathing is necessary.

That is not a failure. It is the body doing exactly what it should.

The point is not to never breathe through your mouth. The point is to stay in nasal breathing as long as possible before you switch.

05The strip

The threshold drops.

A nasal strip does not solve the technique for you. It opens the nostrils mechanically so the physical resistance is reduced.

That makes it easier to keep nasal breathing going in exactly those moments where the body wants to open the mouth.

It does not breathe for you. It makes the choice easier.

06How to train it

It takes time. It should.

Start easy. Hold nasal breathing through the warm-up and the light sessions first.

Build gradually. Move the limit a little each week instead of all at once.

Be deliberate in the pauses. That is where the control is actually built.

Durability

It stays on for the whole session, from the first serve to the last point.

02

Quality

Every strip comes sealed in its own sachet, so the last one in the pack is as good as the first.

The function

How the lift works

OxyCourt nasal strip seen from the side
01

The lift

A flexible spring band runs across the bridge of the nose. As it works to straighten out, it lifts the sides of the nose outward and the physical resistance is reduced.

02

On the outside, not inside

The strip sits on the skin above the nostrils. Nothing is inserted into the nose, and nothing is removed once you take it off.

03

Purely mechanical

No active substance and no medication. The effect is physical. It starts when you apply the strip and ends when you take it off.

Questions

Everything you might wonder

How do I use OxyCourt Nasal Strips?

Start with clean, dry skin — wash and dry your nose. Remove the protective film, place the strip across the bridge of your nose above the nostril openings and press firmly for 15 seconds. Apply ideally 20–30 minutes before training, and wear for a maximum of 12 hours per use. See the full step-by-step guide in our instructions.

What does a nasal strip actually do?

It does not fix your breathing technique for you — it opens the sides of your nose mechanically so the physical resistance decreases. That makes it easier to keep nasal breathing going during training, especially in the moments when your body wants to open your mouth. Read more about why breathing decides.

What is OxyCourt made of?

A flexible PET band with a skin-friendly, latex-free acrylic adhesive. Fully mechanical and drug-free. For external use only — do not apply to irritated, sunburned or damaged skin.

How long can I wear a strip?

Wear a strip for a maximum of 12 hours per use. Stop immediately at any sign of skin irritation, redness or discomfort. Each strip is single-use.

How do I remove the strip?

The adhesive is strong on purpose — the strip has to stay put through a whole session, through sweat and movement. So you take it off with water, not with force. Wet the strip with warm water or take it off in the shower, about ten seconds, so the adhesive softens and releases on its own. Loosen the ends and peel the strip back over itself, staying close to the skin the whole way, inward toward the middle — never straight up. Still feel resistance? Wet it more and wait a little longer; do not pull harder. Sensitive or dry skin: soak longer, or work a little moisturiser or petroleum jelly along the edges before you peel. Adhesive residue: wash with warm water and wipe gently with a towel, or rub in a little petroleum jelly or baby oil and wipe off.

What is the difference between Standard and XS?

Standard is our regular fit. XS is shaped for narrower nose bridges. Both use the same spring-band technology and come in black and clear.

How long does delivery take?

We ship with PostNord. Normal delivery time within Sweden is 2–4 business days after the order is processed. You will get a tracking number as soon as the package leaves us.

How do I store OxyCourt?

Store dry and at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Keep the package sealed until you use a strip. Keep out of reach of children.

Can I use OxyCourt when competing?

OxyCourt is a mechanical aid with no drugs or active substances. Always check your sport's specific rules if you compete at an elite level.
